Judge's Comments:
"This is an excellent example of innovation and creativity demonstrating that beautifully designed and sensitive planting and gardens can be sustainable.
Finding ways to utilise existing structures such as the tennis court to act as a water catchment shows a demonstrated ability to engage lateral design thinking.
The planting design was sophisticated and beautiful and had to deal with predation from kangaroos, as the decision was made not to fence them out. The indigenous plants were sourced from a local nursery which ensured provenance and the exotic species selected are drought tolerant and provide important food for insects and birds.
A truly fascinating and inspiring domestic sustainable project that is an exemplar of how we will need to move forward to deal with accelerated climate change."
